San Francisco Review One of the best
kept secrets in San Francisco is about a
great get-a-way restaurant in Pacifica.
Picture this; it's a beautiful early
evening and you and your dinner date
drive straight down Geary toward the
beach, turning left at the old Sutro
Baths, following the seagulls and the
breeze along the ocean shoreline for
fifteen to twenty minutes, one short
right exit off the Great Coast Highway at
San Pedro Avenue and you arrive at the
charming Barolo
Restaurant in Pacifica.
When
you enter the door, it is immediately
obvious that Barolo's atmosphere caters
to upscale, casual dress; pristine, with
warm colors and banquets of tables.
Barolo's menu offers a variety of
excellent starters, from Antipasto to our
favorite, Fritto Misto, consisting of
Monterey Calamari, rock shrimp, and
asparagus w/ a lemon caper aioli. Another
suggestion is their Baby Spinach salad,
served with pancetta, caramelized onions
and goat cheese drizzled with a Walnut
Vinaigrette. Pasta dishes include an
excellent, house made Smoked Salmon
Ravioli, Fresh Linguine and Clams, or
their House Made Ricotta Gnocchi. If your
in a casual mood, they make delicious
individual entree Pizza's. Our favorite
is the Wild Mushroom with prosciutto,
sautéed wild mushrooms, Mozzarella and
basil.
Moving
on the the main entree, you can't miss
with their Whole roasted Trout, stuffed
with rock shrimp and served with new
potatoes and Italian Olives. Also
recommended are the Braised Lamp Shank,
Veal Marsala or the Garlic Studded
Lobster Tail.
There
are daily specials for $29., refreshing
desserts, an excellent Wine selection,
gourmet teas, and a Children's Menu.
Barolo specializes in organic
ingredients, and a memorable dining
experience designed to get you out of the
City in style. Executive Chef Jason
Yeofoli and his partner, Stephen Walker
have brought a real winner to the
California coast. They offer special event
catering for their
private dining room, seating up to 125.
Their Bar opens at 4:00 PM, and is a nice
stop to have a refreshing cocktail at the
end of the day. If you're looking for the
perfect restaurant for that special
someone, or dinner out for the whole
family, make a reservation at Barolo.
Reservations are recommended for this
popular venue.
