We love
Flipper's, and so does a very avid clientele that
flocks to Hayes Valley for the ambiance and good
food served. A smart decision was to serve
breakfast from 7AM. Whatever happened to the
great breakfast cafes we remember? Flipper's has
brought the breakfast back into popularity. Of course, their patio
seating on a sunny day has also added to the
enjoyment, and that patio is often full, with a
line waiting. Very popular for their truly
excellent salads, terrific burgers, of which
there is a BIG inventive selection. Some
favorites are a the Mexican Style Burger
(w/melted jack cheese, Ortega chilies and sour
cream) or the Copenhagen Way burger (w/melted
bleu cheese, diced beets and walnuts). Salads
feature a terrific Spinach Tenders (fresh spinach
tossed w/walnuts, beets, feta cheese, red onions
& vinaigrette), or the Mediterranean Marinade
(mixed greens tossed with a very savory
vinaigrette, avocado, red onions, tomatoes,
mushrooms and roasted almonds, topped w/bleu
cheese. You can also get an old fashioned grilled
cheese or chicken fingers, and chili with cheddar
cheese and onions. Hearty servings, great
