Choreographed by the owner/leather designer, Heidi Weiner , this is the destination shop for handmade leather jackets in Hayes Valley, and one of the few onsite leather designers in San Francisco. Based on Heidi's sense of European excellence, each jacket, from children, women's to men's sizes, is beautifully and originally created, with a feeling of luxury about the carefully selected materials. Lava9 also represents an international group of jewelry designers, including local & international artist Andrea Suess. The shop carries high quality bags, some of which are also designer originals from Heidi Weiner. The prices are extremely reasonable, and far below designer prices. If I lived in Beverly Hills and wanted to find a gorgeous leather jacket, tailored to fit, I wouldn't go to Rodeo Drive. I would catch a flight to San Francisco, stay overnight in the Hayes Valley Inn, shop in Lava9, and still spend less than a single leather jacket from Rodeo Drive. Lava9 is very popular, and internationally known. This is exactly the type of business that is making Hayes Valley famous for its designer boutiques.
