machine funk purple:
anesthetic
human eyes bursting forth leering from fruits in
the produce aisle
staring through the grocery store zombies and
their carts of glass
and their baskets of weathered skin
entering the aisle of pickled heart jars with
sneering labels
flies lose their wings inside fluorescent lights
the Muzak is the sound of duct-taped angel wings
colored sugar crystals lead in zig-zag trails to
the offices
drowned in the bubbling skin's crescendo
next to the water cooler's front-page
conversations
is the sound of a butterfly snarling
is the sound of a grizzly bear singing an Italian
opera
"mop needed blood spill in aisle 17"
in the parking lot a statuesque nubile girl
stands naked proud and ignorant atop a burning
car
breathing burning rubber
and exhaling Walt Disney cartoons
who smash windshields and watermelons with equal
force
on their way to the outermost ring of heaven
called Chaos.
climb to the top of the wreckage
and kiss me as powerfully
as a waterfall landing on my shoulders
climb to the peak of this plastic warehouse
mountain
and kiss me with the venom of all these fruits
fermenting instantly on the parking lot tar
while your feet burn in the riot
love your eyeshadow because it looks like a
bruise
love your shoes because they make you walk like a
drunk
love your face because i paid for your body
have a nice day on the Outside, shoppers. |
