my life is splattered on the parking lot canvas
like a Pollock using nothing but stage blood
filled with abstract figures slowly becoming concrete
leaning on moaning plastic-filled wallets & translucent automobiles
intertwined & at my expense
frantically making phony love.

I drift into the dance club
and through the blind dancers
as easily as if I were a single strand of hair
and hear a rapper's distant armored voice
roll out of the speakers
like a red carpet covered with spent rubbers & toy guns

I see the girls hiding the eternal things deep in their drugged eyes
and as they shake their insured bodies atop fashion platforms
the boys wear thin golden nooses and grin like stuffed wolves
wondering who they can buy tonight.

you see the billboard Budweiser/Ecstasy smiles so welcoming
and lose yourself on an icy floor of two-note synthesizers.

somehow I have never seen youth look less impressive.

motion lacking Movement.
